How can you encourage someone in your congregation to be more generous?

This is the time of year when congregations are finishing up stewardship campaigns — asking members to pledge their support for the coming year.

Many of us feel hesitant to ask other members to give of their time, talent and treasures. And it can be even harder to muster up the courage to ask a faithful giver to increase their commitment.

What are ways that you’ve found to encourage others to become generous stewards of God’s gifts?
