Maybe you’re hoping that someone will notice the hints you’ve been leaving around the house.
Maybe it’s something that can’t be wrapped, but is tangible nonetheless.
What’s at the top of your Christmas list this year?

Unbridled freedom.
which creates chaos & anarchy. For example, see the O.T. book of Judges which begins & ends with "and everyone did what was right in their own eyes."
Work for all God's people
Chaos & anarchy if it is in the name of freeing the enslaved, clothing the naked, bringing good news to the poor, and reversing the status of the rich and powerful ;)
Ah, but does unbridled freedom mean "chaos and anarchy?" I've always loved Forde's book, "Justification by Faith - a Matter of Death and Life", where he talks about the impact of grace by asking, "What are you going to do now that you don't HAVE to do anything?" Unbridled freedom!
As for me and my Christmas wish... I think I'll join the beauty contestants in saying "World Peace!" Hey, if I'm going to wish, why not wish big! Oh, world peace and a new belt!
A renewed vision of hope for all people, but expecially for those in this family of faith (our wonderful ELCA!).
Peace, Justice (fair distribution of goods),Justice (for ALL, not just the privileged), Love (of our International Neighbors); an End to the emotional carnage of our military.
I've asked friends to give gifts to ELCA World Hunger as my Christmas gifts this year. Only one has taken me up on it so far, but that's at least a good start!
Honest bipartisan dialogue and solutions in Washington.
Enough of this "My party vs. your party" mentality!
What I want is what you need.
Unity and a greater understanding of one another.
Peace in my heart - it's been a hard year and I'm still a little too angry about a few things. Trying to let go and move on continues to be difficult, more than I ever imagined.
The silence that allows me to remember how beautiful Grace really is.
I hope you get that too. It sounds like you deserve it.
No more war. Ever. Come Lord Jesus!
