How does your congregation help the hungry?

Does your congregation have a regular feeding ministry (food pantry, community meal) or contribute to a shared ministry that helps hungry people locally?

Do members contribute to ELCA World Hunger or raise funds for hungry people around the world?

What about advocacy and education about the root causes for hunger?

In addition to regularly collecting food for the local community agencies, we are also a part of an ecumenical group that houses guests in a different local congregation each week. The host church provides a home cooked meal and a place for them to sleep along with breakfast in the morning. This is only during the cold winter months of upstate NY

St. Paul's takes a second offering on the first Sunday of each month for hunger, both locally and globally. We also support a local food program in the community which ensures children will have enough food to eat over the weekend.
