What is your favorite part of Maundy Thursday?

Maundy Thursday is the day when Christians remember Jesus’ servant leadership — and the new commandment “that you love one another as I have loved you.”

There are many ways that congregations reflect that love — through footwashing, a shared meal, song and other acts of service. What is your favorite part of this holy day?

stripping of the altar

I have previously not appreciated the foot washing part, which seemed contrived with the pastor putting "plants" in the congregation. Tonight, for the first time, I experienced this with a group of people that couldn't wait to participate. I was humbled and thankful.
