What brings you together with other Christians in your community?

Members of Christ Lutheran Church in Cullman, Ala., were brought closer to their Episcopalian and Presbyterian neighbors following a tornado that destroyed their building on April 27.

What event (planned or unplanned) has brought Christians in your community together?

The churches and people of Petersburg, WV, where I'm on internship work together well intentionally and unintentionally. Among intentional events are: Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Lenten Luncheons, Easter Afterglow, Easter Sunrise service and a number of other things. The unplanned has happened often with various members of a family going to different churches. At Grace Lutheran, we have people who are technically Methodists, for example, but attend with Lutheran members of the family. And some of the Lutherans also worship at other congregations as well. As a small town, there are numerous community events in which the churches are invited to play a role.
