Ada M. Scott

My congregation: Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chicago.

My favorite Bible verse: “God is love.”

My favorite person in the Bible: Ruth.

My favorite liturgical season: Advent.

My favorite Christmas carol: “Silent Night.”

My favorite potluck dish: baked ham.

My favorite junk food: peanuts with jelly beans.

I like my coffee: with lots of cream and sugar.

Someone who inspires me: my daughter, my pastor and my special friend.

People would be surprised to know that: I am shy.

The best thing I learned in Sunday school: was the Ten Commandments.

Lutherans are great at: starting on time.

Lutherans could do better at: singing more gospel songs.

What “living Lutheran” means to me: being a doer of the word.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I do whatever helps to serve the Lord — clapping, cleaning, directing and what have you!
