Do the performing arts play a special role in your worship services?

Some congregations have talented members whose gifts enhance the worship experience.

In what ways does your congregation use the performing talents of your members?

On rare occasions we have done liturgical dance on Sunday mornings. We often have dramas on Wednesday nights in Lent or Advent. But our typical Sunday fare eschews such things. They can often draw attention to the "talented members" more than they draw attention to Christ, who is the center of all worship. Anything that might inspire worshippers to applaud a performance is probably obscuring, not illuminating, Jesus. There is a place for Christian performing arts, it's just not regular Sunday morning worship.
