Have you shared a worship service with inmates?

Clint Schnekloth in his blog writes movingly of worshiping in a prison with the inmates. Have you worshiped inside a prison? What effect did the experience have on you?

Was that service meaningful in ways that a more normal service perhaps isn’t?

Yes. I did prison ministry, once a week, for about 3 years at McNeil Island in Washington State -- minimum security, Spanish-speaking men. Even though some were just looking for a good mark on their record, many sincerely wanted to learn about Faith. They had a lot of time to think, and a lot of questions. The worship services were often very powerful.
