Pam Voves

My vocation (or calling in life): director of family ministry, mom and friend.

My congregation: Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Glen Ellyn, Ill.

My favorite hymn: “Abide with Me.”

My favorite Bible verse: John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

My favorite person in the Bible: Ruth.

My favorite Christmas carol: “Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful.”

My favorite movie: “The Godfather.”

My favorite junk food: M&M’s.

My perfect day: reading, walking, drawing, cooking and good conversation.

I am most proud of my congregation when: we reach out to the neighboring immigrant community.

I am most frustrated with my congregation when: people don’t listen to each other.

My favorite volunteer project: making breakfast at the homeless shelter.

The ministry I’m most passionate about: nurturing parents to inspire them to grow in faith with their children.

I feel most Lutheran when: I share communion with our ecumenical partners.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I create artwork.

Couldn't help but notice you worked at Faith Lutheran in Glen Ellyn. I was confirmed there in 1955 by Pastor Glenn Gilbert when worship was held at the little white church. I am Director of Children and Family ministry in Colorado.
