Hazel-Spiering

My vocation (or calling in life): retired elementary teacher.

My congregation: Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, Minn.

My favorite hymn: “Here I am Lord.”

My favorite disciple: Paul.

My favorite Christmas carol: “Silent Night.”

My favorite potluck dish: upside-down pizza.

My favorite movie: “Forrest Gump.”

I prefer to sit here during worship: near the front.

The magazine I read standing in line at the grocery store: Family Circle.

My perfect day: eating and playing with my family.

Someone who inspires me: pastors.

People would be surprised to know that: I do not swim.

I feel most Lutheran when: participating in worship.

What “living Lutheran” means to me: doing God’s work.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I’m distributing boxes of food.
