If you could time travel, where would you go?

Recent developments in physics have prompted new discussions about the theoretical possibility of time travel. Don’t book your ticket yet, but if you could go back or forward in time, which date would you pick? What would you hope to learn from your journey?

Too many possibilities. If I could only do one trip, I'd probably go back about a year and a half and try to find and stop my father's melanoma before it metastasized (and ultimately killed him). Also, I'd bring the stock market data, too, and see if I couldn't become a millionaire.

If others could time travel, I'm sure at least someone would try to travel back to about 3 BC and see if they couldn't help direct Herod's men to a certain baby and family fleeing to Egypt.

Chances are, if time travel were possible, we'd already know about it.
