My vocation (or calling in life): pastor.

My congregation: Lutheran Campus Ministry - Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa.

My favorite movie: “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

I like my coffee: black, hot, and strong enough to peel paint.

I prefer to sit here during worship: with the assembly. No pastor throne for me!

What’s playing on my iPod right now: “What Was Wrong” by Storyhill.

My perfect day: a crisp autumn afternoon at a Nebraska football game.

Someone who inspires me: my wife, Kristin — she’s an incredible mother and makes my heart smile.

People would be surprised to know that: I’m actually an introvert — I need time alone daily or I get cranky.

I was most proud of my congregation when: we started regularly providing meals at a local homeless shelter.

I was most frustrated with my congregation when: no one showed up for a very important celebration of our ministry.

The ministry I’m most passionate about: teaching the faith to the young people I serve in campus ministry.

I feel most Lutheran when: I realize my life and my faith are walking together in good harmony.

What “living Lutheran” means to me: filled with God’s grace, joyfully serving “with one another, for one another.”

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I live my life — it all says something about the God who made me.
