My vocation (or calling in life): providing opportunities for girls and women to live their lives to the fullest, utilizing what God has given them.

My congregation: Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Roanoke, Va.

My faith background is (if applicable): grew up in the Episcopal church.

My favorite Bible verse: I can do everything through him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13).

My favorite person in the Bible: Paul.

My favorite potluck dish: macaroni and cheese.

My favorite junk food: ice cream.

I prefer to sit here during worship: front row — I assist with the contemporary worship.

What’s playing on my iPod right now: Chris Tomlin praise music.

Someone who inspires me: my best friend, Candy Barrett, a breast cancer survivor and faithful follower of Christ.

I was most proud of my congregation when: they unconditionally accepted more than 100 of us who became “churchless” when our former congregation voted to leave the ELCA.

I am most frustrated with my congregation when: the adults don’t want to learn more and grow in their faith.

I feel most Lutheran when: I am serving others.

What “living Lutheran” means to me: being the hands and feet of Christ to help others.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I am mentoring children at an inner city school with a large number of immigrant families.
