My congregation: Augustana Lutheran Church and Halstad Lutheran Church, Halstad, Minn.

My favorite hymn: “I Love to Tell the Story.”

My favorite Bible verse: Isaiah 40:29-31, “He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

My favorite person in the Bible: the woman at the well.

My favorite potluck dish: cheesecake.

My favorite movie: “Up!”

My favorite junk food: chocolate.

What’s playing on my iPod right now: Secret Garden.

Someone who inspires me: my mom.

Lutherans are great at: teaching.

Lutherans could do better at: welcoming.

I was most proud of my congregation when: our vacation Bible school had 69 kids.

What “living Lutheran” means to me: trying to be a little Jesus in what I do.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I care.
