How have you recently shared your faith?

Perhaps it was simply bowing your head at a restaurant for a silent grace. Maybe a friend was in a crisis and you were able to draw on your faith to provide support. In what ways, large or small, have you been able to spread the love of Jesus?

When we share our faith, not only does the other person hear of our journey with God, but we too hear anew what that faith means in this context. If that person is blessed enough by the sharing of faith to join your community of faith, your faith community is also blessed by the presence of this new experience of faith. The community is also changed by this new presence. Beware of inviting someone new into a reality that must remain unchanged, for in doing so you are subjecting both the community and the new person to an act of violence (Paulo Freire, the Pedagogy of the Oppressed) and more importantly, both you and they miss the blessing waiting to be manifest. Sharing your faith and inviting someone into your faith community are blessings that require both change and growth.
