Adam Sornchai

My vocation (or calling in life): pastor.

My congregation: St. John Lutheran Church (Windfall) Cardington, Ohio.

My favorite hymn: “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.”

My favorite Bible verse: Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

My favorite person in the Bible: Thomas.

My favorite potluck dish: macaroni and cheese.

My favorite movie: “When Harry Met Sally.”

The TV show I never miss: “How I Met Your Mother.”

People would be surprised to know that: I am Thai, German and Dutch.

Lutherans are great at: singing!

Lutherans could do better at: articulating what it means to be a “Lutheran” Christian and why it matters to them.

I am most proud of my congregation when: they give witness to Jesus beyond the congregation building.

I am most frustrated with my congregation when: we get distracted by petty issues that distract us from delivering the gospel.

What “living Lutheran” means to me: to live a gospel-centered life every day!

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I tell the story of Jesus in word and deed.
