As a child, which young person in the Bible appealed to you?

As Diane Roth writes in her blog, the children in the Bible are a part of God’s story and have a message to tell. Do you remember a biblical child that had special meaning for you when you were young? What was it that helped you relate to him or her? As an adult, is there a child in the Bible that you relate to today?

When I was growing up, it seems that in Sunday School we talked about David almost as much as we talked about Jesus. David showed us how God could use someone who was very young, and not very big or strong, in an amazing way. Skilled musician and skilled shepherd, loyal subject and loyal friend, warrior and future king -- David embodied all the desirable qualities of a man of God. And he killed a giant to boot. No wonder the Messiah was called "the son of David."

The one sitting on Jesus lap.
