Kristy Henriksen

My vocation (or calling in life): volunteer.

My congregation: First Lutheran Church, Pipestone, Minn.

My favorite hymn: “Lift High the Cross.”

My favorite Bible verse: Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

My favorite potluck dish: chicken wild-rice salad.

My favorite movie: “Schindler’s List.”

I prefer to sit here during worship: in the front on the right side.

The TV show I never miss: “Parenthood.”

My perfect day: would be at the beach with family — boating, swimming and good conversation.

Lutherans are great at: singing.

People would be surprised to know that: I lost over 100 pounds.

My favorite volunteer project: Shetek Lutheran Ministries Quilt Auction.

I feel most Lutheran: on Reformation Sunday singing “A Mighty Fortress.”

What “living Lutheran” means to me: grace alone.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I’m helping others.
