Paula Buendorf

My vocation (or calling in life): special education teacher for children with autism.

My congregation: Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, Minn.

My favorite hymn: the shortest … just kidding (a little). “Lord, I Lift Your Name on High.”

My favorite disciple: Thomas.

My favorite potluck dish: baked beans.

My favorite movie: “League of Their Own.”

I like my coffee: I like my cream and sugar with a bit of coffee.

I prefer to sit here during worship: right side, three-quarters of the way up — by Hazel and the Dahls.

My perfect day: one that would be free of guilt.

Someone who inspires me: my husband, Dale.

People would be surprised to know that: I’m horrible at cooking.

My favorite volunteer project: altar guild — I’ve found lots of new “moms.”

I feel most Lutheran when: I’m at Women of the ELCA meetings.

What “living Lutheran” means to me: having my family surrounded by our church family beyond Sunday.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I’m reading the Bible with my children.
