Maybe you could toss them all without a second thought. But for many of us, they have become an essential part of our lives. Certainly cellphones, whether they’re smart or not so smart, have become required for most people, but there are also electronic book readers, GPS devices, iPads and similar “tablets” among the many gadgets on the market. Which do you find essential?

computer, iphone, lights- oil lamps and candles are nice atmosphere but after a while I got tired of them. Electric starters, I have cranked too many in my day, electric pumps for water, I have hauled too much in my day, and static electricity for fun and amusement around the grand kids.
Aside from those that make our society work (some of which Dan mentions) and those that make my job work, the computer would be the hardest for me to do without.
