It’s easy to let time go flying by. The days have their routines and before you know it another month is gone. How do you remember to treat each day as a gift from God to be used and enjoyed to its fullest?

An abstract life
Often the most important thing in our life is simply showing up for it. By that I mean that we need to authentically, genuinely "be there" for our families, at our jobs, and in our churches. God will give us all kinds of opportunities each day to serve Him and others, but if we are not open, engaged, and "tuned in," we might miss them. There used to a song with a lyric something like, "Houdini said, his toughest trick was getting out of bed." We can shut ourselves off from the world in all sorts of ways (sleeping too much, using electronic devices, abusing drugs and alcohol, withdrawing into ourselves, etc.). Our faith calls us to get involved doing God's work each day. When we merely do what we're supposed to do, and be where we're supposed to be, great things can happen any day.
