Laoes Paulson

My vocation (or calling in life): teacher and lover of children.

My congregation: First Lutheran Community Church, Port Orchard, Wash.

My favorite hymn: “Gather Us In.”

My favorite Bible verse: Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

My favorite disciple: Mary Magdalene.

My favorite person in the Bible: Paul.

My favorite movie: “Mamma Mia!”

My favorite junk food: pizza.

I like my coffee: with cocoa.

I prefer to sit here during worship: up front.

My perfect day: visiting and eating with friends or strangers.

The hymn I want played at my funeral: “Rise Up Oh ‘Gals’ of God.”

Lutherans are great at: serving the needy.

Lutherans could do better at: sharing their personal problems.

I’m doing God’s work with my hands when: I do anything for others.
