The two styles have their proponents and opponents, while many people are comfortable with both. If your congregation offers a choice, has one style emerged as more popular?

What an incredibly narrow and problematic imagined dichotomy. The terms are so incredibly broad, vague, and un-nuanced that they are meaningless except to evoke some people's stereotypes of the weaknesses of one approach or the other that may be broadly lumped into one or the other category. "The two styles..." there are more than two approaches, you know. It's so meaningless that there should be no surprise that no one has responded, except this lone voice trying to state what he sees as obvious!
