Which period during Holy Week is particularly meaningful to you?

It’s a week that runs the gamut, from the preparation of Maundy Thursday to the sorrow of Good Friday and Easter Vigil to the joy of Easter. Is there a part of the week that leaves you feeling especially close to God?

At our Good Friday Tenebrae service, very close to its end, all the lights in the church are extinguished, the Christ Candle is carried to the narthex, and a solo tenor sings the first three vereses of "Were You There." At the conclusion of the song, we strike a gong as the strepitus, signifying the closing of the tomb. Then, after a word of blessing, we all leave in silence to await the Resurrection morning. Very moving.
