Hugs for humanity

The Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity was invited to participate with the Nothing But Nets program to help stop a deadly disease - malaria. Our members, friends and neighbors paid $10 for one bed net, so we could give a child the opportunity to live a life of health and happiness. Our video was a simple experiment; a young man with a sign "Free Hugs, I have Malaria." We were pleasantly surprised by those that chose to take a free hug and those who gave generously to the nets program. The young man did not have malaria, but it did create quite a bit of attention in our little town. We communicated the need and saved some lives.
