Simply...Finnnnnntastic!

Hey Katie. I don’t know if you were at Churchwide Assembly, but I was and had the privilege of seeing your video played on the “big screens “in front of 1200 voting members – twice (the only video to be played twice)!. We all sat in captured, stunned silence both times followed by some “whoas!” and “wows!” before applause and whistles broke out. I think we all grew in our faith and were touched by your story and insights – both times!

Congratulations on your accomplishment! Well deserved. I have footage of Bishop Hanson announcing your win with your name in “lights” behind him if you’d like to see it.

We pray your husband has a safe deployment and returns to you quickly, and we thank you for the personal sacrifice your family is making to allow the rest of us to live Lutheran – or any other way we choose to live.

Thanks also for the wonderful, heartfelt comment you so quickly posted about our House of the Rock entry. We feel very blessed to have connected with your faith story and to be in your company. If your family is ever in Atlanta, please look us up. House of the Rock worships in the basement of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (soup kitchen for the homeless by day – rock & roll servants of Christ by night).

Thank you again for sharing your story with all of us. It so perfectly reflected the theme and tone of Churchwide 2011 and what I personally find to be most important about Living Lutheran.
